Coal Creek Station

Coal Creek Station is North Dakota’s largest power plant, which provides electricity that is used by about two-thirds of Minnesota. The 3,370 acre plant was first built in the 1970s. Martin Mechanical Design has been tasked with ABB Swedish engineers to provide climate control in four valve halls located on site at the plant and downstream at the transportation site. The valve halls have tight environmental requirements to ensure reliable power delivery to it’s customers. Between redundancy and proven design approaches, Martin Mechanical delivers an on-time and on-budget solution to meet the strict requirements.

Northland Community and Technical College

Martin Mechanical has done several upgrades at this campus, including the fitness center, research labs and boiler room. Additionally, Martin Mechanical designed a central chiller to cool the entire campus, which had a payback of 5 years.

East Grand Forks, Minnesota

Churchill Hall – North Dakota State University

First constructed in 1927, this residence hall was given a complete renovation in 2016. Churchill Hall had all mechanical systems upgraded, including new HVAC, heating and thermostats in each room.

Research 1 – North Dakota State University

Martin Mechanical was the primary designer of the 40,000 square foot lab addition. The research laboratory is located on the campus of NDSU and provided many energy efficient sequences which include variable volume airflow in the labs, heat recovery from the fume hoods, and fan wall technology for efficiency of equipment.

Built in 2016, Blackridge Bank’s mechanical systems consist of variable speed and variable capacity furnaces with independent zone controls for maximum comfort. The retail branch bank for Blackridge exemplifies the quality and presence they want to project onto the community.

The Mid America Steel building in north Fargo was completed Fall 2018. The massive building occupies over 3 acres of land. Martin Mechanical was responsible for the mechanical and plumbing design in this building.

UND Laundry

Martin Mechanical upgraded the main laundry building for the University of North Dakota campus during their 3500 square foot remodel. We designed a system that can provide for 5 dryers and 6 washers, that includes Intellihot instantaneous hot water heaters.

Martin Mechanical Design is the designated engineer for West Acres Mall. We have done numerous projects there; including the offices, Lux Spa, Best Buy and the Food Court.

Valley Eldercare Senior Living

Valley Eldercare has several locations in the Grand Forks area. Martin Mechanical has been responsible for several projects in their buildings over the years, including a complete chiller replacement, kitchen remodel, boiler replacement, Townsquare remodel and a 20,000 square foot skilled nursing addition. Recently, we worked on the Fireside Room addition which was created to be a place for residents to play games, visit and relax.
