Martin Mechanical is excited to be a part of this project, which will be completed with Icon Architectural Group in 2019. The mechanical design uses high efficiency heating and cooling equipment designed to react to the ever-changing conditions in a hockey arena.

Minard Hall – North Dakota State University

Originally built in 1901, Minard Hall was in need of a remodel in 2009. We provided mechanical upgrades to the historic building and designed a more efficient system to get the most out of the building, with the least cost for the client.

Pelican Rapids High School

Martin Mechanical Design has been involved in several stages of upgrades to Pelican Rapids High School. We designed their large mechanical system, which includes a central chiller, boiler rooms and customizable HVAC systems.

Aurora Elementary School

Aurora Elementary school accommodates 600 students in the largest growing area in the Fargo-Moorhead area. Martin Mechanical designed a high-efficiency condensing boiler with a gas oil boiler for backup.

Icon Sports Arena

This $12,000,000 arena has a two sheet ice rink to serve youth hockey throughout Grand Forks and surrounding communities. The floor plan featured common lobby areas, a general club room viewing booth, several locker rooms and concessions.

Hilton Garden Inn

Hilton Garden Inn is a four story, wood construction with 125 rooms and 74,000 square feet. The amenities at the hotel include an outdoor pool, a commercial kitchen and a full service restaurant. The HVAC system was designed to minimize ductwork and save on the cost of large distribution fans, multiple water pumps and water piping. An air source Variable Refrigerant Flow system was utilized to combine energy efficiency and ease of design. DesignCell Architecture was our partner on this project.

Independence Elementary School

Independence Elementary was built in 2014, with a capacity of 570 students. The 10 – acre school area has a heating and cooling system designed by Martin Mechanical, including multiple air handling units with it’s own DX cooling unit.

BLVD Pub

This 10,000 square foot bar was built in the largest growing area in Fargo-Moorhead. The unique, modern design allows for exposed mechanical systems that showcase Martin Mechanical’s work.

Brown Hall – Concordia College

Originally built in 1947, Brown Hall is an iconic, historic space on Concordia’s Campus. The four-story structure houses around 260 men and women. We were asked to create a new mechanical system to improve ventilation and indoor air quality.

The previous system had air conditioning in the public spaces, with little natural air flow. We updated the building to get fresh air and be up to date with current ventilation codes. The building’s humidity was not controlled, with moisture causing problems and discomfort to the residents. With our new systems, the building was able to heat and cool effectively, while keeping moisture at a minimum.

Brooks Harbor Elementary School

Brooks Harbor Elementary School is the 13th elementary school in the West Fargo School District. Martin Mechanical designed a customizable, energy efficient solution for the new school, which opened for the 2017-2018 school year.
